Privacy Policy
Byers Fence is a fence contractor, not a data company. We collect very little, we do not sell any of it, and most of what this page describes is the ordinary machinery that runs behind almost every small business website. Here is exactly what happens when you visit this site or send us a message, written plainly enough that you can check it yourself.
What information do we actually collect?
There are two kinds. The first is what you hand us on purpose. Our contact form asks for four things: your name, your email address, your phone number, and your message. That is the whole form. There is no hidden field and no newsletter signup buried in the fine print. If you call or text us instead, we end up with whatever you tell us on the phone, which is usually an address and a rough idea of the fence you want. The second kind is what gets collected automatically the moment any browser loads any page. That means your IP address, the type of browser and device you are on, which pages you looked at, and where you came from. Our web host also keeps standard server logs. We do not take payments on this website, so no card details ever pass through it.
How do we use what you send us?
Contact form submissions go straight to our office inbox as an email. They are not written to a database on this website, and nothing is stored in the page itself. We read them, and someone from our team gets back to you about an estimate, a schedule, or a question you asked. That is the entire purpose. We use the automatic data differently. It tells us which service pages people actually read, which towns our visitors come from, and whether a page is loading properly on phones. That shapes what we write next and which photos we put where. We do not build advertising profiles about you, we do not run email marketing campaigns off form submissions, and we do not pass your details to other contractors looking for leads. If you ask us to delete your inquiry, we will. We do hold on to the original message while a job is live, so the crew arriving at your property can check what you actually asked for rather than guessing.
What cookies and tracking run on this site?
This site runs Google Analytics, which sets cookies to work out whether you are a returning visitor and which pages you moved between. We also run Google Ads conversion tracking, so that when we pay for an ad we can tell whether it led to anyone actually contacting us. Both are Google products and both set their own cookies in your browser. Our contact page additionally loads Google reCAPTCHA, which is the invisible check that keeps the form from being flooded by bots. reCAPTCHA watches how you interact with the page and sends your IP address to Google so it can score whether you look human. We do not set any cookies of our own beyond what those tools create. You can block all of them in your browser settings or with an extension. Blocking the analytics and ad cookies costs you nothing at all. Blocking reCAPTCHA may stop the contact form from submitting, in which case just call us instead.
Who else receives your information?
We do not sell your personal information, and we never have. A short list of companies does touch it, though, and you deserve the actual names rather than a vague reference to trusted partners. Google receives the most: Analytics, Ads conversion tracking, reCAPTCHA, the map embeds on our contact page, and the typefaces this site uses all load from Google servers, which means Google sees your IP address on every page. Cloudflare serves two small display libraries we use for photo galleries and sliders. Our web host handles the email that carries your contact form message and keeps the server logs. Beyond those, we share information only if a court or a law requires it of us. If we ever hire another vendor that would handle your details, we will name them on this page rather than quietly adding them. None of these companies pay us for access to you, and not one of them is handed a customer list.
What rights do you have, and how do you reach us?
Ask us what we hold about you and we will tell you. Ask us to correct it and we will. Ask us to delete it and we will delete it, unless we need to keep a record of work we actually performed on your property. We will honor those requests from anyone who asks, no matter which state you live in, rather than checking first whether a law compels a company our size to comply. This site is meant for adults hiring a fence contractor. We do not direct it at children and we do not knowingly collect anything from anyone under thirteen. To reach us about any of this, call (386) 457-2045, use our contact form, or write to Byers Fence at 39 Rosedown Blvd, DeBary, FL 32713. If this policy changes, the date below changes with it.
